Newsmakers for the week of
December 11, 2005


The following local Johnson & Wales University students have been named to the Dean's List for the 2005 fall term ending in November. Joseph Kincaid of Brockport and Augie Espenmiller of Hamlin, who are both pursuing a bachelor of science degree in Sports Entertainment Event Management from the Hospitality College at the Charolotte Campus of the Johnson & Wales University, were named to the dean's list.


Air Force Airman 1st Class Christopher J. Hilbert has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

He is the son of John and Cathy Hilbert of Hilton. Hilbert is a 2002 graduate of Hilton High School.


Adam D. Ellsworth and his wife Ivy J. (Marks) Ellsworth have both been promoted to the rank of Sergeant in the U.S. Army. The Ellsworths are assigned to the 201st Forward Support Battalion, 1st Infantry Division of the United States Army stationed in Vilseck, Germany. Adam has three years of military service and currently works on Land Combat Missile Systems. Ivy also has three years of military service and works as a combat medic.

Adam is the son of Erich S. Ellsworth of Hamlin and Carol J. Ellsworth of Spencerport and is a 2002 graduate of Hilton High School.

Ivy is the daughter of James and Lynnea Marks of Grand Marsh, Wisconsin and is a 1999 graduate of Adams-Friendship High School.


Matthew James Faulks, the son of Stephanie Faulks and Theodore Faulks, participated in Acceptance Day ceremonies at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, New York.

A graduate of Hilton Central High School, Midshipman Faulks was administered the Academy oath by Vice Admiral Joseph D. Stewart, the institution's superintendent. The members of the Class of 2008 were additionally sworn into the U.S. Naval Reserve.

Faulks was nominated to attend the Academy by Senator Joseph E. Robach


Navy Reserve Petty Officer 2nd Class John F. Jennejahn, III, son of Sandy and John F. Jennejahn of Hilton, was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal while serving as leading petty officer assigned to United States Military Hospital Kuwait.

Jennejahn is a 1979 graduate of Hilton Central High School of Hilton and joined the Navy Reserve in March 1982.
