Newsmakers for the week of
December 25, 2005


Lindsay Burtner, of Rochester, has been named to the dean's list for the fall 2005 quarter at Rochester Institute of Technology. A first-year student in RIT's School of Design, she is studying new media design imaging. Burtner, daughter of Kevin and Laurie Burtner of Chili, is a 2005 graduate of Churchville-Chili High School.


Christopher DeAngelis, of Spencerport, has been named to the dean's list for the 2005 fall quarter at Rochester Institute of Technology. A first-year student in RIT's College of Science, he is studying imaging science. DeAngelis, son of Judy and Gary DeAngelis of Spencerport is a 2005 graduate of Spencerport High School.


Kelsey Egan, of Chili, earned second degree Black Belt in Karate and was promoted by Kyoshi Mark A. Caparco of Caparco Martial Arts. In the past 10 years, Egan has progressed in her training to becoming one of Caparco Martial Arts' top instructors, according to Caparco. Egan is an eleventh grader at Churchville-Chili Senior High School where she excels academically, is a member of the Varsity Tennis Team and of Student Council.


Kathy Steinkirchner, of Brockport, has been named to the dean's list for the fall quarter at Rochester Institute of Technology. A first-year student in RIT's College of Science, she is studying Biotechnology and is enrolled in RIT's Honors Program. Steinkirchner, daughter of Pam and Jim Steinkirchner of Brockport, is a 2005 graduate of Brockport High School.


Jackie Petrenek has joined Johnstone Supply as business manager for the Rochester and Syracuse stores. She will be responsible for the company's financial and accounting, facilities management, and all other related business functions.

Petrenek, who lives in Spencerport, graduated from the Business Career Institute in Connecticut. Her 25 years of accounting experience ranges from managing a tax preparation office and a payroll company to accounting positions with a manufacturer and with an accounting firm.

Johnstone Supply, Inc., headquartered in Portland, Oregon, is a buying cooperative for heating, ventilating, air conditioning and refrigeration products used by contractors and building maintenance people.


Air Force Airman Kevin L. Burritt has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

He is the son of Sheldon E. and Kathy L. Burritt of Hilton. Burritt is a 2003 graduate of Hilton Central High School.


Air Force Airman Gregory A. Vaillancourt has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

He is the son of Gregory S. and Ouida S. Vaillancourt of Brockport. Vaillancourt is a 2005 graduate of Brockport High School.


Marine Corps Pvt. Glen L. Rapp, son of Kathy L. and Todd L. Rapp of North Chili, completed 12 weeks of basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, South Carolina.
