Red Cross recounts accomplishments

The humanitarian mission of the Red Cross is vitally important here in our community. The dynamic activities of the Orleans County chapter provide immediate human response when fires, floods and other natural disasters create real emergencies in the lives of our friends, neighbors and families. At the same time, we actively help you prevent, prepare for and respond to disasters and other emergencies.

Look at what we accomplished in the last year: The Orleans County Chapter responded to 20 fires, floods and other disasters, offering comfort and emergency needs to families in crisis; 1,529 people have been trained in First Aid, CPR or other life saving techniques; 2,350 of the kids in our communities have learned to swim; 40 military families have received care and support; and 52 tens have gained substantial childcare skills through our Babysistter trainings.

We have shared important health and safety information, too, helping you and your families become prepared for - and often prevent - emergencies and disasters.
