Holley student
creates mitten tree

Holley fifth grader Bethany Annal discovered the idea for a mitten tree while reading a magazine. She asked her teacher, Sheri Viscardi, and Principal Brenda Freida if she could create a mitten tree project at school for needy children. She organized the project, sent flyers to all the classrooms in the elementary school, made signs to advertise and put up a tree in the cafeteria on which staff and students could hang mittens. Fifty four pairs of mittens were collected.
