B-B teacher nominated for Disney Teacher Awards

Byron-Bergen High School Principal David Pescrillo was recently notified that one of the High School Special Education instructors was nominated for Disney Teacher Awards. In a letter from Terry Wick, vice president of Disney Teacher Awards, he states, "We are pleased to inform you that Alana Stefanski has been nominated by a student for Disney Teacher Awards, which honors creativity in teaching. This nomination demonstrates that this teacher's work has had an impact on your school community. We salute this teacher's talent and impact on students. We also applaud your efforts to create a learning environment that supports that innovative teaching."

"Disney Teacher Awards is an opportunity for Disney to publicly recognize and reward the outstanding, creative work that teachers do throughout the year to engage students in learning," Wick said. "An independent committee of teachers and representatives from education organizations will review all applications and select about 45 honorees as Disney Teacher Awards Honorees for 2006."

Stefanski now has the opportunity to submit an application for these awards.
