Hilton grapplers romp Suhr, Sauberan elected to hall

Nate Smith and Jake Zoghlin won their matches and the Cadets took seven matches by forfeit in a 52-15 wrestling win over Webster-Schroeder.

At 103 lbs., Nate Smith won by pin and Zoghlin took his 160 lb. match by an 11-3 score. Mark Ranzenbach, Don Worboys, Marty Grizzanti, Will Smith, John Veler, Scott Allis and Joel Yackel all won their matches via forfeit.

In other wrestling news, Spencerport's John Suhr and Kendall's Jim Sauberan are among seven new inductees into the Section V Wrestling Hall of Fame. Brockport State national champion Kevin Richard is also among the seven inductees. The Geneseo native won his title during the 1978-80 season.

Suhr won the 1984 state title at 145 lbs. while Sauberan is the current head coach and athletic director at Kendall High School as well as a Section V committee member. The group will be inducted at a dinner February 15 at Red Fedele's Brook House restaurant in Greece.
