Ashley Marie Kelly of Dunbar Road, was named to the dean's list for the fall 2005 semester at SUNY Cortland. She is a business economics major.


Meredith Keymel, daughter of John and Karen Keymel of Greece, was named to the president's list at SUNY Cortland for the fall semester.


Carrie Fogg of Brockport has achieved the dean's list at SUNY College at Brockport for fall 2005. She is a 2002 graduate of Brockport High School and the daughter of Linda Fogg and Gary Sedore of Brockport.

While dislocated from Tulane University, Fogg attended SUNY Brockport. She is a psychology major and member of the Louisiana Alpha Chapter, Phi Beta Phi.


John Krizan and Margaret-Best Krizan of Clarendon are proud to announce that their daughter Kristina Marie Krizan-Boyle of Greece has made the dean's list at Monroe Community College for the fall semester. She is studying human services.


Jennifer Buttery, the daughter of Janet and Jess Buttery of Brockport, has been named to the dean's list at Hamilton College for the 2005 fall semester.

A student must achieve a grade point average of 90 or above during the term to be placed on the dean's list.

Buttery, a senior majoring in comparative literature and geosciences at Hamilton, is a graduate of Brockport High School.


Karate Master Jim Reece, of Chili, earned his master's degree in Aiki Jujutsu from Kyoshi Mark A. Caparco of Caparco Martial Arts. Reece has been training in the martial arts for the past 18 years.


Jessica Sweeney of Hilton has been named to "Who's Who In American Junior Colleges." She attends Morrisville State College.


Five Monroe County residents have each been awarded scholarships to attend Alfred State College. Among those receiving awards are the following area residents:

Sara Skelly of Spencerport was awarded approximately $4,000 for a "Presidential Scholarship." Skelly is slated to graduate in 2006 from Spencerport High School and intends to enroll in the mechanical engineering technology program.

Jason Durst of Rochester (14624) was awarded approximately $4,000 for a "Presidential Scholarship." Durst is slated to graduate in 2006 from Gates-Chili Senior High School and intends to enroll in the mechanical engineering technology program.

Alison Goodlein of Churchville was awarded a $500 "Alumni Scholarship." Goodlein is slated to graduate in 2006 from Churchville-Chili Senior High School and intends to enroll in the architectural technology program.

The "Presidential Scholarship" (free room, double occupancy) is awarded to students who possess a 90 or better high school average through their junior year and who have achieved a minimum SAT score of 1150 or a composite ACT score of 25. Recipients must maintain a required GPA (grade point average) to continue to receive free room in subsequent semesters.

The "Alumni Scholarship" is awarded to children and grandchildren of Alfred State alumni with an 83+ high school average. Awards are disbursed over four semesters provided scholarship requirements are fulfilled. The Alumni Scholarship is made possible through the generosity of the Alfred State Alumni Association.

Alicia Smith of Churchville has achieved the dean's list at SUNY College at Brockport for fall of 2005. She is a 2003 graduate of Churchville-Chili and is the daughter of Dale and Diane Smith.


Candice Rockell, daughter of Jim and Lee Rockell of Spencerport, has been named to the fall 2005 dean's list at St. John Fisher College in Rochester. Rockell, a senior, is a mathematics major.

To be eligible for the dean's list at St. John Fisher College, a student must have attained at least a 3.5 grade-point average for the semester.


Erin Marple Hall, of Clifton Springs, New York, has graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology with a bachelor's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.

Hall is the daughter of Kay and Craig Marple of Spencerport and a 1997 graduate of E.J. Wilson High School.


Benjamin R. Jaekle of Brockport has achieved the dean's list at SUNY College at Brockport for fall 2005. He is a 2003 graduate of Brockport High School and is the son of Mark and Megan Jaekle of Brockport.

The president's and deans' list represent the academic top 24.9 percent of the Oswego student body. Students who achieve grade averages of 3.80 and above on the 4.00 scale are named to the president's list, the top 6.2 percent of Oswego students. To be included on the dean's list, students must have a semester grade average of 3.30 to 3.79.


Cayce Lynn Burritt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Craig Burritt of Hilton, was named to the president's list by Dr. A. R. Horton, Founder/President of Pensacola Christian College, for academic achievement during the 2005 fall semester. She earned an A average.

A Monroe County resident has been awarded approximately $3,200 for the "All-American Scholarship" to attend Alfred State College. Stephanie Johnson of Spencerport is slated to graduate in 2006 from Spencerport High School and intends to enroll in the undeclared major program.

The "All-American Scholarship" (free board) is awarded to students who possess an 88 or better high school average through their junior year and who have achieved at least a 1100 combined SAT score or a composite ACT score of 24. Recipients must maintain a required GPA (grade point average) to continue to receive free board in subsequent semesters.


Navy Seaman Recruit Haley A. Drake, daughter of Julie Drake of Kendall, completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Illinois. Drake is now attending tech school to become a hospital corpsman and is a 2005 graduate of Kendall High School.
