Genesee Community College
plans first-ever all class reunion

As Genesee Community College approaches its 40th Anniversary, more than 16,000 people consider themselves alumni of the institution - a population larger than the City of Batavia. Genesee Community College recently opened its new Wolcott J. Humphrey III Student Union and continues to expand its economic significance to the region with last year's estimated economic impact totaling more than $78 million.

The college now offers men's intercollegiate lacrosse; the baseball team captured its first WNY Athletic Conference Championship; and the Lady Cougars basketball team ranked #2 in the nation's Division II. On Saturday, February 25, from 6 to 9 p.m., the college will host the first-ever Class Reunion in the new Student Union. The "Jimmy Buffett Bash to Remember" is free and open to all alumni and friends who pre-register by Tuesday, February 21. The event will include: D.J. sounds and music by Frank Gioia Jr.; a reflection of photographs and images of the college through the years; hors d'oeuvres and beverages; prizes; and opportunity to socialize.

In addition to socializing, participants in the Big Bash Raffle will have a chance to win either a $2,000 Genesee Community College Scholarship Award or a trip for two to Key West, Florida. A number of other prizes, including one for the most imaginative tropical attire, will also be awarded. All alumni and friends interested in attending Genesee's "Jimmy Buffett Bash to Remember" or Big Bash Raffle tickets can contact the college's Alumni Relations Office by February 21.
