Mindy Renee Bader of Brockport has achieved the dean's list at SUNY College at Brockport for fall of 2005. She is a 2005 graduate of Brockport Central Schools and is the daughter of Elaine Bader and the late Alan S. Bader. Bader has been named to the dean's list with honors with a 4.0 GPA, majoring in meteorology and teacher education.


Brendan James Gaesser, son of Amy Hegeman Gaesser from Kendall and a member of the class of 2007, who is majoring in psychology, has been named to the dean's list at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts.

To be eligible for the dean's honor list, students must be enrolled in six or more credit hours and attain a grade point average of 3.25 or better.


Erica Shortino of Spencerport has achieved the dean's list at SUNY College at Brockport for fall of 2005. She is a 2002 graduate of Spencerport High School and is the daughter of Thomas and Paula Shortino.


Vanessa R. Taylor, a second-year student at the College of the Holy Cross, Worcester, Massachusetts, has been named to the dean's list for the first semester of the 2005-2006 academic year. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas A. Taylor of Spencerport. She double majors in history and medieval Renaissance studies.


Clarkson University has awarded the prestigious Cala Family Endowed Scholarship to Daniel Schreiner, son of Daniel and Barbara Schreiner of Spencerport.

The Cala Family Endowed Scholarship was established by Charles F. Cala '33 to honor his parents, Carmelo Scaglitta Cala and Caterina Ferrau Cala; his children, Charles Ferrau Cala, Jr., Caterina Ferrau Brown and Jerome Ferrau Cala; and himself and his wife, Julia A. Cala.


Amanda Datro of Spencerport, enrolled in the College of Human Services and Health Professions at Syracuse University was named to the dean's list for the fall 2005 semester. To qualify for the dean's list, students must achieve at least a 3.4 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) during the semester.


The following students enrolled in the L. C. Smith College of Engineering and Computer Science at Syracuse University were named to the dean's list for the fall 2005 semester. To qualify for the dean's list, students must achieve at least a 3.4 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) during the semester. From this area are:

The following students enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences at Syracuse University were named to the dean's list for the fall 2005 semester. To qualify for the dean's list, students must achieve at least a 3.4 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) during the semester. From this area are:

The College of Saint Rose, Albany, has announced students named to its fall 2005 dean's list from this area.

Full time students who complete a minimum of 12 credit hours and achieve a semester grade-point average of at least 3.5 are eligible for inclusion on the list. Students are: Kathleen Reto from Hamlin and Christopher Russell from Spencerport.


Sixteen young pianists from the studio of Jennifer Moses performed in the New York State Federation of Music Clubs Festival this year. All students received superior honors and will be listed on the national honor roll. Students include: Julie Haring, Emily French, Lauren French, Keith French, Jodie Snook, Phillip Pritchard, Erin Blackburn, Cate Criticos, Daniela Cianci, Kevin Bianchi, Cameron Priest, Rachel Cooper, Valerie Perry, Alexandra Libutti, Nicole DeRose and Allison DeRose.

A gold trophy will be awarded this year to Cate Criticos. Students receive a gold trophy after completing three years of Federation with superior ratings.


Amanda Piatek, daughter of Henry and Rosalie Piatek of Rochester, has been named to the fall 2005 dean's list at Keuka College in Keuka Park, NY. Piatek, a 2003 Churchville-Chili graduate, is a junior is studying occupational therapy.

A Keuka College student must have earned at least a 3.50 grade point average for each block of at least 12 semester credit hours to be eligible for the dean's list.


Mike Volkmar, former Hilton standout (1997 graduate) who led his team to the Section V Baseball title and NYS Baseball Quarter Finals while earning first team All-State his senior year, has accepted a position as strength and conditioning coach with the Washington Nationals Baseball Organization. On March 1, Volkmar will report to the National's spring training to begin working with the team. He will be assigned to Class-AA Harrisburg (PA) or Class-A Woodbridge (VA) after spring training to begin his season April 6.

This is Volkmar's second season in professional baseball. He held the same position in the Milwaukee Brewer's Organization in 2004. He spent the 2005 season with the GWU Baseball Program as Head Strength and Conditioning coach while finishing his graduate work, a position he held for three years. After Hilton, Volkmar went to play four years at Le Moyne College where he finished among the career leaders in home runs, runs batted in, and batting average.


The University of Rochester announced the following students have been named to the fall 2005 dean's list:

Trevor Zachary DiMarco, a sophomore majoring in mechanical engineering. DiMarco, a resident of Spencerport, is the son of Donald and Cheryl Royce and a graduate of Spencerport High School in Spencerport.

Erin Marie Fox, a sophomore majoring in environmental sciences. Fox, a resident of Spencerport, is the daughter of Jon and Nancy Fox and is a graduate of Spencerport High School in Spencerport.


Linda Taddonio has joined Nothnagle Realtors. "I believe in getting out there and meeting people face to face so they can see what I'm all about. I am genuine in my desire to help people with their Real Estate needs, and I don't think you can do that from behind a desk or from across the phone," she said. Prior to joining Nothnagle Realtors, Taddonio spend 13 successful years working with clients in the financial service industry. She contributes her success to her commitment to providing the highest level of service and dedication to her clients.

"As a Real Estate Agent, I enjoy establishing a relationship with my clients that allows for an easy rapport. It's with this philosophy that I am able to meet my client's needs and expectations," she said.

Taddonio, a Rochester native, resides in the Brockport/Clarkson area with her husband, Gates Chili art teacher Richard Taddonio and their two children.


Army Pfc. Dennis Wisner has returned to Fort Stewart, Georgia, after being deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. The soldier is a member of Task Force 4th-64th Armor Regiment, 3rd Infantry Division.

Wisner, a forward observer with one year of military service, is the son of George M. and Dorothy A. Donoghue of Holley. The private is a 2004 graduate of Holley Junior Senior High School.


Former Kendall High School student, Christine Everroad, has graduated from the US Army military police school at Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri. She is serving with the 2nd Infantry Division, 8th MP Brigade, 142nd Military Police Combat Support Unit in Yong San, South Korea.

She is a 2005 graduate of Hauser High School, Hope, Indiana and is the daughter of Rick and Jody Everroad, formerly of Morton.


Air Force Airman Daniel R. Miller has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

He is the son of Brian Miller of Hilton and Geneva Miller of Clayton, NY. Miller is a 2002 graduate of Thousand Islands High School, Clayton.


Marine Corps Pvt. Joseph N. Morehouse, grandson of Daniel Morehouse of Spencerport, completed 12 weeks of basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, South Carolina, designed to challenge new Marine recruits both physically and mentally.
