Tower Fine Arts Center installs hearing assistance system

SUNY College at Brockport announced that an infra-red hearing system has been installed at Tower Fine Arts Center, making it possible for those who are hard-of-hearing to enjoy the theatre performances and musical concerts that take place in Tower's Mainstage theatre.

The system, which augments the sound emanating from the stage through the use of a receiver and headphones, was installed through the generosity of Anne and William Rock. Rock, who served on the Brockport College Foundation Board, was pleased to be a part of this effort to make theatre and live music available to those who are hearing impaired.

According to Stuart Ira Soloway, the arts events manager, there is a limited number of receivers currently available. If a patron has booked tickets for a performance at Tower, they are entitled to reserve a receiver, free of charge, by calling the box office at (585) 395-ARTS.
