Slates set for village elections
Bergen, Churchville, Hilton, Holley voters go to polls

Petitions were filed in the villages of Bergen, Churchville, Hilton and Holley for the March 21 elections. Those seeking election are:

In Bergen: The incumbents are running uncontested races - Wayne Bailey for mayor and Anna Marie Barclay and Virginia Adams for the two trustee seats. All positions carry four-year terms.

In Churchville: Donald G. Suter is seeking election to the board for the position he was appointed to in September. He is running unopposed and will fill the remaining one year term of former Deputy Mayor Dean Arlidge. Suter was appointed to the post following Arlidge's death.

In Hilton: Village board member James Gates and Larry Gursslin are seeking election to mayor. Gates has served as a trustee for three terms. Gursslin previously served as mayor for 16 years. He has been off the board since 1998 when he didn't seek reelection.

Two trustee seats are up for bid and are being sought by incumbent Joseph Lee and two newcomers, Chad Kyler and Larry Speer. Trustee seats are for four year terms.

In Holley: Two incumbent trustees, John Kenney and Tom O'Neill, are seeking election to the mayoral seat. It is a two year term. Two incumbents and one newcomer are seeking election to the board. Incumbents Ross Gaylord and John Heise are looking to retain their seats and Mark Porter has tossed his hat into the race. Mayor Stanley Carpenter is not seeking re-election.
