"You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown" a hit at Hilton's Northwood Elementary School

"I really don't think you have anything to worry about, Charlie Brown. After all, science has shown that a person's character isn't really established until he's at least five years old," says Linus to the adorable but perennially self-conscious Charlie Brown.

Hilton's Northwood Elementary School second grade class, taught by Melanie Murphy, performed the musical, "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown," February 13-15 to capacity audiences in the school's Little Theater. Adapted and directed by Murphy, the performances showcased the very young students' abilities to sing, remember lines with dead pan deliveries and humor usually reserved to seasoned actors.

Jacob Bodamer played "Snoopy," Nolan Ransom was "Charlie Brown," Lily Storey was "Lucy," Nicole Bradbury was "Peppermint Patty," Jesse Edwards was "Linus," Sara Wilmot was "Little Red-Haired Girl," Justin Clayton played "Schroeder," Mya Bagdasarian was "Violet," and Murphy's own father played "Grandpa."

All of the children played important roles in the cast: Lexi Scuderi, Michael Trobia, Marielle Buss, Brandon Lang, Nick Tschetter, Alexa Miles, Robby Bettin, Donovan Glavin, Marissa Brundage, Daniela Vasquez, Galina Natyazhko, Brittney Little, Emily Taylor, Pavel Voronin, and Angela Boyko. Musical accompanist was Sonja Volkmar; cast photograph - Judy Buss; set construction - Mal Perry; artistic design - Laurie Steele; costumes - Judy Buss and families; and many more parents participated.
