Lake Plains grazing workshop planned

The Lake Plains Resource Conservation and Development Council will host a Grazing Workshop on March 21 at the Orleans County Trolley Building, Orleans County 4H Fairgrounds, Knowlesville. The workshop will begin at 10 a.m. and end at 3 p.m. This program is part of the New York Grazing Lands Conservation Initiative and will focus on grazing basics. Speakers include Darrell Emmick, Natural Resources Conservation Service NRCS State Grassland Specialist; Karen Hoffman Sullivan, NRCS Resource Conservationist - Animal Science; and Rob DeClue, NRCS Chenango Co. SWCD. Topics include pasture a plant - animal interaction, basic animal nutrition, and infrastructure basics, fence laneway and water systems.
