Flotilla 4-8 celebrates another year of service
On January 28, U.S. Coast Guard Flotilla 4-8 in Hamlin celebrated its Change of Watch at Carmestro's Restaurant in Hilton. Following dinner, the 2005 Commander and Vice Commander presented 2005 Flotilla Awards to the following:

- Special Recognition - Notorious Achievement for Publications & Media Relations - Lee Kinnard
- Richard Larnder Station Keepers Award - Gordon F. Smith
- Gordon Shakotko & Howard Gaiger Operations Award - Peter J. Urgola
- Fred Kenney Vessel Examination & Program Visitor Award - Richard Popowych
- William Cannon & Daniel Casey Public Education Award - Roger D. Howlett
