Hilton High School Varsity Cheerleaders 1st place win at Contest of Champions in Orlando

Hilton High School 28-member Varsity Cheerleading squad coached by Laurie Miller placed first in the "Level 4 Extra-Large Squad" category against nine squads from New York, Florida, and Rhode Island in the Contest of Champions February 25. The Contest of Champions is held each year at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida. It is an open competition open to the nation which features cheer and dance teams competing in team, solo, ensemble and stunt divisions at Disney World's Wide World of Sports Complex. Over 100 squads compete in differing levels and competitions are judged by a panel which looks at technical skills in the areas of stunts, pyramids, standing tumbling, running tumbling, tosses, jumps, dance/motions and transitions/formations. The routine is about two minutes and thirty seconds.
