Church offers scouting emblem program

The Brockport Free Methodist Church offered a religious emblem class for Cub Scouts of the Protestant faiths and BFMC Sunday school participants in grades 1 through 3. The religious emblem program is administered by the P.R.A.Y. organization and is designed to teach children about the beliefs of their faith.

The programs are open to all Sunday school participants, boy scouts, and girl scouts. This year was the first that BFMC offered the class, and 15 children from three different Cub Scout packs and BFMC's Sunday school participated. The participants were awarded medals at BFMC on Scout Sunday, February 5.

BFMC will offer the religious emblem class for Protestant faiths next fall/winter and hopes to have more participants from the Brockport area Cub Scout and Girl Scout organizations. If leaders from these organizations have questions regarding the religious emblem program, they can contact Tim Brown at jeantimbrown@aol.com or go to www.pray.org.
