Girls and Boys State representatives chosen

The Bergen American Legion recently announced the school representatives who will be attending Empire Girls' and Boys' State during the last week in June 2006. Representatives participate in a week long program focusing on local and state government and they were selected through an interview process conducted by the American Legion Post.

Representing Byron-Bergen at the Empire Girls' State at SUNY Brockport will be Shavaughn Bartz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Steven Bartz of Byron. Alyssa D'Errico was selected as alternate. The 2006 Empire Girls' State session will be held at SUNY Brockport June 23-29. This unique program focuses on our government process and the Constitution.

Selected to represent Byron-Bergen at Empire Boys' State is Eric Wood, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wood of Batavia. Benjamin Johnston was selected as the alternate. The 2006 Empire Boys' State session will be held at SUNY Morrisville from June 25 - July 1.
