Staff related professionals to be
recognized in Hilton School District

Hilton Central School District's Employee Association (HCSEA) annually honors one of its own, according to Hilton Central Schools Teaching Assistant Harriet Adams. "Nominees will receive an "Outstanding Employee Award" certificate and a pin to recognize their achievements," Adams said. "Of the nominees, one person will have the honor of becoming the 'School Related Professional of the Year.'

Selection is accomplished by the H.C.S.E.A. Selection Committee and announced at the annual staff and faculty convocation held the day before school opens in September. Those staff members eligible are: aide/teaching assistant; custodial/maintenance/buildings and grounds; support service - occupational therapist, physical therapist, nurse, technical support, etc.; secretarial/clerical (with the exception of confidential secretaries); transportation. Kitchen workers, confidential secretaries and administrators are not members of H.C.S.E.A. and are ineligible.

"Nominees should display exceptional skill and dedication on the job; promote learning; create positive relationships with parents, students, co-workers, and community members; make schools safer, healthier, and more attractive; possess good interpersonal skills, and have the respect and admiration of students and co-workers; exemplify leadership through active participation in school activities; extend themselves beyond the basic required duties by displaying initiative, creativity, and overall contribution to the school system," Adams said.
