Forest and woodland workshop planned

The "Caring for Your Forest Land" workshop will provide guidance and assistance to forest and woodlot owners and interested public. Topics include: how to thin woods, grow healthier trees and make a better habitat for wildlife. The event will be held from 6:30 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, April 25, at the Monroe County Cooperative Extension Office, 249 Highland Avenue, Rochester.

Speakers include representatives from the Cornell University Master Forest Owner program and Department of Natural Resources, the NYS DEC Division of Lands and Forests, and the New York Forest Owners Association. All speakers have experience in woodland, wildlife and forest management.

The cost is $15, and includes publications and light refreshments. Pre-registration is required.
