Local gymnasts win

Bright Raven Gymnasts competed at the Niagara Cup in Buffalo on February 25 and 26. The Level 5 team captured first place with a score of 185.70 and the Level 4 team came in third place with a score of 181.275.

In the Level 4 individual competition, Allison Steinmetz from Greece competed in the six to eight age division and placed first on vault (9.950) and third on the uneven parallel bars (9.100). In the 9-11 year old age division, Megan Boyce of LeRoy placed third on the uneven parallel bars (9.500). In the 12 and older age division, Emily Hopkins of Churchville placed second on balance beam (9.100) and second all around (36.050).

In the Level 5, seven to nine year old age division, Megan Stevens of Brockport placed first on vault (9.150), second on balance beam (9.300), 2nd on floor exercise (9.425) and second all around (36.625). In the 10-11 age division, Rachel Shire of Chili placed second on vault (9.275) and third on floor exercise (8.950). Amanda Lee of Henrietta placed third on vault (9.100), first on uneven parallel bars (9.450), and second all around (35.000). Danielle Adam of Greece placed third on balance beam (8.900) and Carly King of Churchville placed third all around (34.950). In the 12 and older age division, Hailey Clark of Henrietta placed first on vault (9.550), first on uneven parallel bars (9.200), first on floor exercise (9.500), and first all around (37.250). Jamie Lee Gilbert of Chili placed second on vault (9.425), second on uneven parallel bars (9.200), second on balance beam (9.250), third on floor exercise (9.325), and second all around (37.200). Lauren Ciranni of Gates placed third on vault (9.150), third on balance beam (9.100), second on floor exercise (9.375), and third all around (36.225). Laura Manciocchi of Chili placed third on the uneven parallel bars (9.125) and Haley Cunningham of LeRoy placed first on balance beam (9.700).

In the Level 6 competition Helen Zickl of Batavia competed in the 10-11 age division and placed third on floor exercise (9.125). In the 12 and older age division Kristina Nupp of Churchville placed second on vault (9.100), first on balance beam (9.525), first on floor exercise (9.600) and first all around (36.575). Emily Arnold of Gates placed second on floor exercise (9.100).

Bright Raven boys team competed in Williamsville March 5 where Nathan Daniels of Churchville took first place in vault (9.40) in the Level 5 competition for ages 12 and over.
