Molly Plovanich of Hamlin was named to the dean's list for the fall 2005 semester at Johns Hopkins University. To be selected for this honor, a student must earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale.

Plovanich is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Plovanich and attended Brighton High School.

Plovanich, who is majoring in arts and sciences pre-major, is expected to graduate in May 2009.


Trevor Zachary DiMarco, a sophomore at the University of Rochester, has been recognized as one of the top freshmen for the 2004-05 academic year and has received the Iota Book Award.

He and 18 other students were honored at a recent ceremony by the Iota Chapter of Phi Beta Kappa, the nation's oldest academic honorary society, and the College of Arts, Sciences and Engineering at the University of Rochester. They were selected for their scholarly achievement, humanistic values, co-curricular activity, and leadership potential.

DiMarco, son of Donald and Cheryl Royce, is a resident of Spencerport and a graduate of Spencerport High School.


Shannon Elliott was named to the dean's list at William Smith College, Geneva, in her freshman first semester. She is double majoring in history and media and society with plans to pursue a career in the publishing industry. Elliott is a 2005 graduate from Spencerport High School. Her parents are Doug and Sandy Elliott of Spencerport.


Marine Sergeant Michael Robinson completed a tour of duty with the 3rd Provisional Security Company at Camp Lemonier in Djibouti, Africa. Robinson serves as a communications supervisor and is also involved in martial arts instruction. He is a 1999 graduate of Spencerport High School and the son of Mary Ann and Douglas Robinson, formerly of Spencerport.

Robinson now resides in Jacksonville, Florida, with his wife, Rachal.
