Bright Raven gymnasts compete in Jamestown

Bright Raven Gymnastic Teams traveled to Jamestown, NY to participate in the Lucky Stars Invitational held March 17-19, bringing home two team banners and taking many individual honors.

In the Level 4 competition for gymnasts ages 11 and older, Nikole VanWie of Brockport captured first place all around (38.15), first on vault (9.50), first on beam (9.35), second on the uneven parallel bars (9.725) and second on floor exercise (9.575). Sarah Daniels of Churchville earned third place all around (37.275) and tied for first place with VanWie on vault (9.50).

In the 9-10 age division, Ciara Reifenstein of Chili took first place on vault (9.725). Gabriella Garcea of Churchville was third on vault (9.40). Karina Kyle of Brockport placed second on the uneven bars (9.55).

The Level 4 team finished in second place with a team total of 185.15. Other gymnasts contributing to the team effort included Megan Boyce and Alicia Wardell of LeRoy, Ariel Johnsen, Allison Prem and Allison Steinmetz of Greece, Maddie Plucknette of Churchville, Olivia Weber of Hilton, Emily Wade of Gates and Julia Shire of Chili.

The Level 5 team also took second place with Jamie Lee Gilbert of Chili and Hailey Clark of Henrietta both earning the same highest all around score (37.10) in the 13 and up age division. Both girls also tied for first place on vault (9.05). Gilbert also took first on floor (9.55) and third on bars (9.275). Clark was second on bars (9.35) and third on beam (9.25). In the same division, Laura Manciocchi of Chili earned third place on vault (8.85). In the 11-12 age division, Lauren Ciranni of Gates won first place on floor exercise (9.475). Haley Cunningham of LeRoy placed third on floor (9.45). Holly Garbacz of Chili earned second place on bars (9.3) and Nicole Bell of Chili was third on beam (9.275). In the 7-9 age division, Megan Stevens of Brockport was first all around (37.025), first on floor (9.625), second on vault (9.00) and second on bars (9.15).

The top five scores in each event comprise the team score. Bright Raven's Level 5 team totaled 185.00 with the additional help of Audrey Clarke and Carly King of Churchville, Melissa Rombolla of Spencerport, Jessica Tamol and Carly Kreitzberg of Irondequoit, Megan Saraceni and Rachel Shire of Chili, Amber Rice of Brockport, Danielle Adam and Kristina Schiffhauer of Greece, Rhianne Korth of Avon and Amanda Lee of Henrietta.

Kristina Napp of Churchville competed in the Level 6 competition for 12 year old gymnasts and earned first place all around (36.925), first on vault (9.30), second on beam (9.40) and second on floor (9.55).

In Level 7 for gymnasts ages 11-12, Amber Harewood of Chili placed third on vault (9.225).

Emily Thomas of North Chili competed as a Level 8 gymnast in the 8-11 age division and took first place on the uneven bars (9.55), second on vault (8.55), second on floor (9.425), third on beam (8.725) and second all around (36.25).
