Candidate announces Congressional intentions

Jack Davis, the Erie County industrialist who is on a mission to save American jobs, farms and industries, launched his 2006 campaign for U.S. Congress at three stops in New York's 26th Congressional district recently, according to a press release.

"I am a businessman, not a career politician. I know what it takes to build prosperous businesses in Western New York and I know how to reverse the loss of jobs and reverse the declining U.S. economy," the release read.

"I am committed to Western New York and America. Tom Reynolds is committed to the special interests that give him money, send our jobs overseas and sell out New York and America."

The people of Western New York deserve better, he stated. They expect a Congressman who can't be bought. They want someone who will represent them in Washington, not someone who's sold out to the multinational companies."

Davis is a graduate of Amherst High School and the University of Buffalo and served as an officer in the Coast Guard. He started his company, I Squared R Element, in his garage 40 years ago. The company now employs 75 people in Akron, NY at an average wage of $25 an hour. He self-funded his campaign with over $1 million in '04 and will do that again.

Davis appeared in Erie County, in Greece, Monroe County and in Geneseo. He will launch his campaign in all seven counties in the 26th district in the days ahead.
