Cadets fall to Cougars

Trailing 8-0 at half-time, Hilton stormed back with the first four goals of the second half before succumbing to Honeoye Falls-Lima 13-5 in boy's lacrosse.

The Cadets managed just four shots in the first half, but came out of a brief half-time break to score just 32 seconds into the second half. Kyle Hayward passed to Alex Wood who scored for Hilton's first tally. Three minutes later, Jay Clifford scored on a low shot and, at the 5:52 mark of the third quarter, Wood gathered up a loose ball and put it in the upper corner to make the score 8-3 HF-L.

Clifford scored for Hilton off a pick and roll at 3:07 before the Cougars scored twice at the end of the third and two more early in the fourth to put the game away. With 2:06 left in the game, Wood took a pass from Jon Graus and had his shot partially stopped by the goalkeeper before dribbling across the line for the third goal of the game.

Hilton goalie Aaron Donahey made several nice saves in the second half during the Cadets' rally. HF-L's Dan Layfield had five goals in the game.

The Cadets are 1-2 and in fourth place in the Monroe 2 division behind first place Webster Thomas.
