Join Relay for Life to help fight cancer

The Westside Relay For Life will be held Friday, June 2 at the Spencerport High School Soccer Stadium. Everyone is invited to form or join a team and take turns walking, running or riding in a Golf Cart in a lap around the track. Certain representatives will be on the track all through the night because cancer never sleeps. More than two million people will be diagnosed with cancer this year. The American Cancer Society Relay For Life is a community gathering where everyone can join the fight against cancer. All cancer survivors are invited to celebrate life with friends and family. At dusk, hundreds of candle luminaria will light the way to remember those who have lost the battle with cancer and those currently fighting the disease. Becky Livingston will sing accompanied by Kellan Head on the piano. Jake Kwiatkowski will play the bagpipes.The Brockport Big Band, Ballroom dance instructor Frank Fortuna, singers Jim Drew and Kerri Lynn Slominski and others will perform. Registration begins at 4 p.m. Opening ceremony 6 p.m., rain or shine.
