Chili considered for $32,000 in playground funding

A request for playground equipment funding has been included in the 2006 Annual Action Plan for Housing and Community Development in suburban Monroe County. The request specifically calls for $32,000 in funding for ADA Playground Equipment for the Davis Park playground. It was made by Chili Supervisor Tracy Logel to Monroe County Executive Maggie Brooks.

"We are elated to have the opportunity to be awarded $32,000 in CDBG funding. There is a growing need for ADA compliant playground equipment in our community, and we are anxiously awaiting the final approval of funding for this project. We should receive notification in early August," according to County Legislator Mary Valerio.

ADA, or Americans with Disabilities Act, provides rights and protections to individuals with disabilities. ADA playground equipment is playground equipment designed specifically for use by those with disabilities.
