AREA

Kitt, A. Ross, May 14, 2006, after a short illness. He is survived by a large and devoted family: His wife, Phyllis; sons, A. Ross III (Nancy), Lyle (Brenda), Dale (David Jordan) of Florida, Arno (Brita) Fitting of Germany; grandchildren, AJ (Amy) Kitt, Laurie (Michael) Hopsicker, Matthew (Amy) Kitt, Scott Kitt, Yuri (Meghan) Lavrynenko, Andrey Babak, Clay (Lisa) Pittman, Andrew (Jeannie) Pittman, Brian (Shelly) Pittman; great-grandchildren, Jeffrey, Kevin, Katherine and Morgan Hopsicker, Aksel, Ayden and Ava Kitt, Isabella Lavrynenko.

As an attorney he founded General Code Publishers Corp. and he was one of the founding fathers of Park Ridge Hospital. He was a dedicated community servant throughout his long career serving at different times as Town of Ogden Councilman, Justice and Supervisor. A lifelong lover of libraries, he served several years as President of the Monroe County Library System Board of Trustees and was one of the driving forces behind the creation of the Empire Friends of the New York Library Association.

A Memorial Service will be held June 8, 2006 at 3 p.m. at Third Presbyterian Church, corner of Meigs Street and East Avenue, Rochester. Interment will be private. Contributions can be made to the Visiting Nurse Foundation, Inc., 2180 Empire Blvd., Webster 14580.


BROCKPORT

•Kramer, Johanna A., May 16, 2006 at the age of 98. Predeceased by her husband, Klaas; and daughter, Joanne Tarnopolsky. Survived by her son, Nick (Antoinette) Kramer; grandchildren, Nicole (Al) Crocetta, Megan Kramer, Michelle and Greg Tarnopolsky; and great-grandson, Sam Crocetta.

A Memorial Service will be held Monday, May 22 at 11 a.m. at the Fowler Funeral Home, Inc., 340 West Avenue, Brockport. Interment at the convenience of the family. Contributions can be made to the First Presbyterian Church, Brockport or the Wedgewood Nursing Home, Spencerport in her memory.


•Trowbridge, Jeannie F., On May 13, 2006 after a brief illness at the age of 80. Survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Eugene; daughter, Anne (Richard) Maine, sons, Michael (Jane), Kenneth, Robert (Sue) and David; nine grandsons; two great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Doris Feeney; nieces and nephews, and special cousins, Roncinske family, and many loving friends.

A Funeral Mass was said May 17 at Church of the Nativity, Brockport. Interment, Lakeview Cemetery. Donations can be made to Visiting Nurse Hospice, 2180 Empire Boulevard, Webster, NY 14580 in her memory.


HILTON

Gerhardt, Charles L., May 16, 2006, age 64. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Barbara Connolly Gerhardt; his children, Colleen (Craig) Burritt, Matthew (Lora) Gerhardt; his grandchildren, Emily, Cayce, Lucas and Kyle Burritt, Olivia, Maxwell, Connor Charles and Lily Gerhardt; three brothers, William (Kate Bopp), David (Linda) and John (Margaret) Gerhardt; mother-in-law, Annice Connolly; brother and sisters-in-law, Timothy Connolly, Mary Jo (Hank) Leach, Suzanne (Arthur) Pastor; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

A Funeral Mass was said May 20 at St. Leo Church, Hilton. Private interment, Parma Union Cemetery. Contributions can be made to Hilton Volunteer Ambulance or Aquinas Institute Athletic Department, 1127 Dewey Avenue, Rochester, NY 14613 in his memory.


HOLLEY

•Engert, Lucy "Isabel," Age 94, died May 14, 2006 at Lakeside MemorialHospital. She was predeceased by her husband Charles F. in 1994. She is survived by her sons, Ronald (Kate) Engert of Kendall, William and Thomas Engert of Holley; daughters, Marilyn (George) Strabel of Clarendon, Barbara (Robert) VanLoan of Batavia; sister, Henrietta Tarquin of Florida; daughters-in-law, Sandra and Sharon Engert of Holley; son-in-law, James Paul of Holley; grandchildren; great grandchildren; great great grandchildren; nieces, nephews. She is predeceased by three children, Charles J.and Walter J. Engert, Dianne Paul; four brothers and two sisters.

Funeral Services were held May 17 at the Merrill-Grinnell Funeral Home, Holley. Interment, Sandy Creek Cemetery. Contributions can be made to a charity of one's choice in her memory.


SPENCERPORT

•Almond, Marie C., May 14, 2006 at age 87. Predeceased by her husband Everett M. Almond. Survived by her daughter Junell (Peter) Chavez of Spencerport; her son Marvin (Theresa) Almond of Arizona; grandchildren Lynn (Kyle) Lundberg, Lorie (Steven) Shull, Janice (Dan) Jalowiec, Peter Chavez Jr., Sue (Gary) Valentine and Mary Almond; 18 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Interment was at the convenience of the family. Contributions can be made to Right to Life, 675 Ling Road, Rochester, NY 14612 in her memory.


•Murray, David V., May 12, 2006 at age 69 after a valiant struggle with ALS. Survived by and beloved husband to his wife of 39 years, Gretchen (Ashford) Murray; loving father to Shawn (Tamara) Murray of Cleveland, Ohio, Rebecca (Thomas) Hruby of Cartersville, Georgia and Shane (Sarah) Murray of North Chili; grandchildren Spencer and Brandon Murray, Jacob, Rachael, Michael and Nicholas Hruby, Jack Murray; siblings John (Monica) Murray, Melvyn Maas, Kathleen Mayne and Marilyn (Michael) Maccio. Predeceased by his wife Jane and son Christopher; several nieces and nephews. David was a retiree of the U.S. Postal Service in Spencerport, NY.

Funeral Services were held May 16 at the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany. Interment at the convenience of the family. Contributions can be made to ALS research in his memory.
