Local municipalities receive grant money

Monroe County Legislator Richard Yolevich announced $88,000 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Funding to make multiple improvements in the Town of Parma and Village of Hilton, as well as portions of the Towns of Ogden and Sweden, as well as a portion of the Village of Brockport. The grants are recommended by County Executive Maggie Brooks and legislation has been submitted to the Monroe County Legislature, pending approval at the June 13 Legislature meeting.

Town of Parma will receive $25,000 toward the ADA pedestrian bridge over the town's largest subdivision, Salmon Creek. The bridge will allow residents of Salmon Creek Estates to walk to the Village of Hilton and Hilton High School.

Town of Ogden will receive $20,000 to purchase and install automatic entrance doors at the north and west entrances of the Community Center and the Highway Garage entrance, which is used for the County Clerk's Mobile Unit.

Town of Sweden will receive $35,000 toward the ADA sidewalk connecting Royal Gardens Senior Apartments to the Community Center.

Village of Brockport will receive $8,000 for the Sidewalk Connection Program to construct a new sidewalk on the south side of West Avenue to benefit village residents.
