Christina Munger, North Chili, has graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology with a bachelor of science degree in business management. Munger is the daughter of Linda Munger and Robert Munger of North Chili and a 2002 graduate of Churchville-Chili High School.


Michael S. Siracusa of Brockport graduated from D'Youville College on May 20 with a bachelor of arts degree in history.


Sixty graduating nursing students were honored at Genesee Community College's annual Nursing Recognition ceremony Friday, May 19. Students from this area are: Carrie M. Cooper of Bergen; Elaine T. Goodnough of Churchville; Dayna L. Merchant and Deborah A. Mulligan, both of Brockport; Denise L. Noble-Johnson and James W. Salyer both of Holley.


Daniel Attoma of Hilton will participate in The Gift of Discovery, an educational and cultural program sponsored by the National Italian American Foundation (NIAF) in Italy's region of Tuscany. Attoma attends Ithaca College.

More than 600 Italian American college students between the ages of 18 and 23 applied to the Foundation's Gift of Discovery program. Forty-five students were chosen to participate in this all-expense-paid program to increase their understanding of Italy and their Italian heritage.


The Victors Gymnastics Team of Greece competed in the 2006 Level 6 New York State Championship, May 21-22.

In the 10-year-old age division, the Level 6 team was led by Andrea Barberia of Greece who placed first on the uneven bars.


Nicole Johnston from Chili has been named a United States National Award Winner in mathematics. Johnston, who attends Churchville-Chili Jr. High, was nominated for this national award by Deborah Westcott, a teacher at the school. Johnston will appear in the United States Achievement Academy's Official Yearbook which is published nationally.

She is the daughter of Steve and Jackie Johnston from Chili. The grandparents are Fred and Cathie Costello of Brighton and Barbara and Gerald Johnston of Greece.


Bradley J. Hamling, of Brockport, was presented the First-Year Cup Trophy - Campbell College at Moving-Up Day ceremonies held at St. Lawrence University, in Canton, New York.

Hamling is a freshman at St. Lawrence. He graduated from Brockport High School.

The First-Year Cup Trophy is presented to the first-year college that gained the most points attending First-Year Cup events during the academic year.
