Oak Orchard Watershed public information meeting set

The Oak Orchard Watershed Protection Alliance will host an update meeting on the actions being taken to address watershed concerns and draw more attention and funding to protect and enhance this valuable natural resource.

The public information meeting agenda is designed to give the public an update on the watershed planning process underway within the Oak Orchard Watershed (Genesee and Orleans County). There will be a report on the State of the Basin Report, a report on activities underway to identify potential funding opportunities and grants written to implement projects. There will be a short presentation on ways to accomplish goals and objectives identified in the State of the Basin Report and a segment on where to go from here. There is no cost to attend or registration required. The meeting will be on June 22 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Orleans County Cornell Cooperative Extension Office Building, Orleans County 4-H Fairgrounds, 12690 Route 31, Albion.

The meeting is of interest to residents, farmers, environmental groups, conservation groups, municipal officials and staff and other citizens concerned with the water quality, water use and land use issues in the Oak Orchard Watershed.
