Kendall students participate in N.Y.S. Envirothon

Eleven teams from schools throughout Orleans and Niagara counties participated in the 17th Annual New York State Envirothon held at Bond Lake in Niagara County. Students competed in five content areas: soil, aquaculture, forestry management, wildlife identification and management, as well as a current events issue. This year's current events topic was "Water Stewardship in a Changing Climate." As part of the contest, students are asked to study a problem, arrive at possible solutions to the problem, and present their ideas to a panel of judges. Kendall High School students missed first place by only about 10 points. Shown (l to r) are Kendall High School students Mike Maxon, Spencer Heideman, Mike Cole, Scott Partyka and Reed Heidemann, along with George Lonnen, technology teacher. They participated in the NYS Envirothon in Niagara County. Submitted photo.
