Hilton officials thank 'Friends of Education'

The Hilton Board of Education thanked "Friends of Education" at its May 9 meeting describing their strong commitment to the students and education in Hilton. Honored were: members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars for their sharing of life experiences with the students of Merton Williams Middle School; Dr. Sandy Sorrentino, Hilton School district physician for his many years of service; High School volunteer Cheryl Stiles who has donated time and talents to the Hilton High School musicals as costume designer; Music Booster President Robin Weber, recipient of the LeeRoy Williams Music Award for her hours of dedication and enthusiasm for the Hilton music program; Interscholastic Sports Volunteer Jim Pechie who "exemplifies the role of the model parent in interscholastic sports;" NW Family YMCA for their supportive relationship with students and families of Northwood Elementary School; Quest Elementary School grandparent volunteer Barbara Gardner for her enthusiastic sharing of life experiences traveling all over the world; and Village Elementary School parent volunteer Cynthia Williams for involvement in the school's Volunteer Elementary Parent Teacher Organization VEPTO.
