Genesee Valley Kennel Club hosts events in Hamlin

The Genesee Valley Kennel Club holds its 74th and 75th Annual All-Breed Dog Shows, Obedience Trials and Rally Trials, Thursday, July 6, Saturday, July 8, at the Hamlin Firemen's Field, 1503 Lake Road (Route 19), Hamlin.

Judging begins on Thursday at 9 a.m. and on Saturday at 8:30 a.m. Obedience and rally competition will conclude by 1 p.m. Group judging will begin at approximately 2 p.m. and will be followed by Best In Show.

Refreshments are available on the grounds as well as vendors selling dog-related items. Admission is free, though there is a $3 parking fee. Follow the signs to designated parking areas and do not enter by way of the fire station. The grounds are handicapped accessible. Dogs that are not entered in the event are not permitted on the show grounds.

The Genesee Valley Kennel Club was founded in 1913 and held its first show that year at the Convention Center in Rochester. The kennel club has continued to serve Rochester and Monroe County as the area's premier organization dedicated to the advancement of interest in and the responsible breeding and ownership of pure-bred dogs.
