at the Gates Library equipment sale

Every year, the Gates Public Library replaces some computer equipment, and the old equipment is offered to the public. This year, the sale will be on Thursday, July 27, from 4 to 8 p.m.

Some excellent equipment is available, including many 17" monitors; laser, inkjet and dot matrix printers; and networking hubs and a wireless access point. Between the printers and the networking equipment, this is the perfect opportunity to build your own home network. There will also be "packages" available, which will include a computer, monitor, keyboard and mouse. The computers being offered have had their hard drives formatted, so they are ready to install the operating system and software of your choice.

The sale will be in the library's meeting room, and will be "cash and carry." Payment may be by cash or check. Prices are reasonable.

Most of the equipment works. Some of it is hard to find or expensive if purchased new. For information, call the Gates Public Library at 247-6446 and ask for Internet/Technology Librarian Cathleen Carstens.
