Walking for a cure

Faculty and staff volunteers at the State University of New York at Brockport teamed up for a worthy cause and raised $2,193 for the American Heart Association Heart Walk. Employees and their families participated in a three-mile walk through the historic Corn Hill Neighborhood to raise funds to fight heart disease and stroke. Paul Michalko, an American Heart Association representative presented the college with an award for its participation in the Heart Walk. SUNY Brockport Committee members were led by Jill Campbell, assistant to the vice president of student affairs. This year's Heart Walk kicked off with a health fair, games and clowns followed by the walk. The Heart Walk is a national event held in cities across the nation throughout the spring and summer.
