Hilton chooses 'Citizen of the Year'

On June 28, Hilton's Mayor Larry Gursslin announced that St. Paul's Lutheran Church Pastor Albert Zoller, was selected as the 18th recipient of the Citizen of the Year award. Earlier this year, Zoller announced his retirement plans and a potluck supper was held.

Gursslin said, on behalf of the Hilton Village Board of Trustees, "Each year the board has an opportunity to select an individual who has given of themselves to support and improve our lives in the Hilton-Parma community. Pastor Albert Zoller has certainly distinguished himself in this capacity and it is our intention to recognize him this evening with the annual award." Other speakers commented on how they were helped by Pastor Zoller in times of need or how he went about his caring for others.

Zoller has been the Chaplain of the Hilton Fire Department for more than 22 years. As he was giving thanks to conclude the evening, a fire truck pulled into the church parking lot where he was escorted away. More than 200 people attended the ceremony.
