Parent information session
focuses on Differentiated Instruction

The term "differentiated instruction" is widely used in schools today, but, what exactly does it mean?

Differentiated instruction meets the needs of students at their instructional levels and challenges them to grow using their interests and academic readiness in each content area to base instructional decisions. It doesn't mean "one size fits all."

Parents can learn more about differentiated instruction from notable researcher, author and consultant Carol Tomlinson. A free information session, sponsored by the Brockport, Hilton and Spencerport School Districts is offered as part of the Differentiated Instruction Summer Institute on Thursday, August 3 from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. at the Hilton High School Auditorium, 400 East Avenue, Hilton.

Tomlinson will present an overview of differentiated instruction, what it means for students and what the parents' role includes.
