CCHP paints
signs for parade

Members of the CCHP congregate around one of their just-painted signs which were to be used in the Hilton Firemen's Carnival Parade on July 27. According to John Brazas, (third from the left, behind the sign) communications director for the group: "We hope to have around 100 people marching behind the float in the parade. The challenge the group has taken has created a real sense of community; we have become more than neighbors." Photograph by Walter Horylev.

Signs about signs

Soccer complex opponents have dotted the Parma landscape with anti-complex signs. One Parma family decided to declare their opposition to signs.

Jon Jr. and Dad, Jon Dean, stand next to their sign on the Dean property at the northwest corner of the intersection of Hill Road and Burritt Road in Parma. John Dean Sr. said, "If more people went to the town board meetings we might not need all those signs sprouting up all over Parma." Wife Grace added, "We took our sign down after awhile and we had more people ask us to put it up again. We wanted people to laugh and lighten up." Photograph by Walter Horylev.
