The following students enrolled in the Martin J. Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University were named to the dean's list for the spring 2006 semester. To qualify for the dean's list, students much achieve at least a 3.4 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) during the semester.

The following students enrolled in the College of Visual and Performing Arts at Syracuse University were named to the dean's list for the spring 2006 semester. To qualify for the dean's list, students much achieve at least a 3.4 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale)

Ryan Miller, Marinna Pavone and Shannon Tyo, all of Rochester; Jamie Duff of Brockport; and Amanda Pappert of Hilton.


Erin Marie Fox, a sophomore majoring in ecology and evolutionary biology at the University of Rochester, has been named to the dean's list for academic achievement for the spring 2006 semester. Fox, a resident of Spencerport, is the daughter of Jon and Nancy Fox, and a graduate of Spencerport High School.


Trevor Zachary DiMarco, a sophomore majoring in mechanical engineering at the University of Rochester, has been named to the dean's list for academic achievement for the spring 2006 semester.

DiMarco, a resident of Spencerport, is the son of Donald and Cheryl Royce and a graduate of Spencerport High School.


Northeastern University has named the following local students to the dean's list of the spring 2006 semester.

Aaron G. Dobson, who is majoring in computer engineering; Kristin D. Schue, who is majoring in graphic design, both of Hilton.

To achieve the dean's list distinction, students must carry a full program of at least four courses, have a quality point average of 3.25 or greater out of a possible 4.0 and carry no single grade lower than a C during the course of their college career.


The following Spencerport residents were named to the dean's list at SUNY Geneseo for the 2006 spring semester. To qualify, students had to carry at least 12 credit hours, maintain a 3.4 grade point average (GPA) out of 4.0, and have no "D," "E" or incomplete grades.

Rachel Lynn Brower, Timothy Michael Calnon, Jason Andrew Dorofy, Diana Michelle Hemm, Christine Marie Jackson, Christine Ann Klotzbach, Desiree Ann Marciano, Caitlin Marie O'Brien, Danielle Nicole Powers, Emily Anne Smith, Jessica Lynne Voelkl and Tracy Allison Webster.


Jennifer Marmo, formerly of Brockport, was awarded a master of arts degree from Eastern Michigan University on April 30. She has accepted the position of assistant director of the forensics and debate team at Hillsdale College.

She completed her undergraduate studies at Hillsdale in 2005.


Brendan Gaesser of Kendall was placed on the dean's list for the spring 2006 semester at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA).

To be eligible for the dean's honor list, matriculated students must be enrolled in six or more credit courses, attain a grade point average of 3.25 or better and have no incomplete grades. A total of 509 MCLA students were named to the dean's list this past spring. He is the son of Amy Hegemon Gaesser of Kendall and James Gaesser of Leicester, New York.


Private James Burley graduated August 3 from Fort Benning, Georgia in the Charlie Company 2nd BN 47th Infantry Brigade.

Margaret , Dean, DJ and Katie D'Angelo of Gates are proud of their son and brother.


Air Force Reserve Staff Sgt. Steven J. Barone has deployed to Southwest Asia in the Persian Gulf region to support the mission of Operation Enduring Freedom as a member of the 379th Air Expeditionary Wing. The servicemember is regularly assigned to the 328th Airlift Squadron, Niagara Falls NY.

The sergeant is a C-130H aircrew life support technician with 15 years of military service. He is the son of Ralph and Jean Barone of Kenmore, NY. His wife, Toni, is the daughter of Hock and Deb Kershaw of Spencerport. Barone graduated in 1992 from Kenmore West High School.
