NASF/Pony League All-Star game results

The North American Sports Federation/Pony softball league of western Monroe and eastern Orleans counties held its first All Star game July 26 in Chili. The visiting team was comprised of players from Brockport and Spencerport, and the home team was comprised of players from Chili, Forty and One and Holley.

The two teams were tied at five runs after three innings of play. Defensive errors on the visiting team allowed the home team to break away in the fourth and fifth. The visiting team rallied and battled back against strong pitching in the fifth and sixth, closing the gap to six runs, but gave up two more runs in the bottom of the sixth and stumbled in the top of the seventh, going three-up, three-down. The game ended in a 19-11 win for the home team.

Brockport's Jolene Warso and Jordan Gaisser received special recognition for stellar play, on defense and offense respectively. Warso made some grabs in left center, including a key catch on a long fly ball hit by the home team's Jasmine Torres.

NASF is represented locally by John Masco, national UIC for the organization and an instructor in sports officiating at SUNY Brockport. The NASF/Pony league plays on Mondays and Wednesdays in June and July, using ASA tournament rules, for recreational, modified and JV level girls aged 13 to 17.
