Soccer stadium light removal

Crews using a crane and a bucket truck removed two 80-foot tall light poles at the Spencerport Schools' soccer stadium. Regular inspections of the wooden poles revealed safety concerns. "They are about 30 years old and served us well," said Director of Facilities Nelson Drake. Replacements will be installed before the end of August, using the existing lights from the previous poles. The first nighttime soccer game is the annual Broadbent/Selander Boys Soccer Tournament scheduled on September 8 and the lights should be in service before those games. Submitted photo.
