CD cover art show and contest set

Celebrate Upstate is leading a search for original artwork for an art show and the cover of Celebrate Upstate's 2006 Holiday CD. Celebrate Upstate is a collection of local artists whose mission is to support and promote local businesses with emphasis on the arts.

Artists, including photographers, from the upstate New York area are invited to submit entries. Entry fee is $25 for the first art piece and $10 for each additional entry. Art work is due September 20.

Artwork for the CD cover will be chosen according to public votes. The public will be able to view the work beginning September 22 online and at a local gallery to be announced. The show will conclude with a live music reception tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, October 4.

Winners will receive gift certificates for art supplies and receive free entry to future art shows that may be produced in 2007. The Celebrate Upstate Holiday CD is co-sponsored by Spinergy, a locally-owned CD/DVD manufacturer.
