Holley Board appoints new elementary principal

The Holley Board of Education has appointed Lee Ann Cervini as elementary school principal. Cervini began her new position on August 14.

"I am thrilled to be joining the Holley Central School District as the principal of the Elementary School because it is evident that 'good things' are happening for students, and that every person is dedicated to this vision from the teaching staff to the custodial staff to the clerical staff to parents," she said. Most recently, Cervini was a teacher on special assignment/differentiation and enrichment specialist for K-5 for the Spencerport Central School District. She has worked as a first grade teacher and team leader during her 11-year tenure with the district. Cervini also has taught in Brighton; Greensboro, North Carolina and Dallas, Texas.

In 2004, Cervini received the Presidential Award for Excellence in Math and Science Teaching for New York, and became a Nationally Board Certified Teacher last year.

Cervini said her immediate goal as principal includes getting to know the students and families of Holley as well as gaining a thorough understanding of programs and instructional practices, policies and procedures, and the climate and culture of Holley Elementary School. "Then, in collaboration with the administrative team and working directly with faculty and staff, we will begin to forge a path into the future by continuing what works well and strengthening areas of weakness in direct response to district goals," she said.
