Lorrie Johnsen stays on the sidelines at sports events, supervising muscle stretches and taping injured limbs. But on another playing field, Johnsen has scored a prize of her own.

Johnsen, a trainer at Botsford General Hospital, was named the High School Athletic Trainer of the Year by the Michigan Athletic Trainers Society. She works at Botsford's Total Rehabilitation and Athletic Conditioning Center, which provides trainers to community schools.

She received this award for her work at South Lyon High School where she has worked 13 years providing preventative care and treatment and therapy for injuries.

She is the daughter of Bill and Genevieve McFee of North Chili. She graduated from Churchville-Chili High School in 1972. She lives in Commerce, Michigan with her husband, Mark, and her daughter, Hayley.


Ashley M. Rath of Hamlin took part in an internship this summer through SUNY Oswego's Experience-Based Education Program.

Rath, a senior studio art major, interned with the Rochester Red Wings in Rochester.


After a nationwide search, SUNY College at Brockport has named Kimberley A. Haines as director of campus life. Haines was formerly associate director of campus life at the college. She has been at SUNY Brockport since 1999, as the assistant director of campus life.

In her new role, Haines is responsible for the coordination of Welcome Weekend, Seymour College Union operations, fraternity and sorority life, campuswide programming and Homecoming and Family Weekend.

Haines was the chairperson of the 2004 and 2005 State University of New York's Chancellor's Award for Student

Excellence Selection Committee, member of the Alcohol Task Force Committee and serves as one of the college's judicial officers. She was honored as the 2004 Brockport Student Government Administrator of the Year. Haines holds a bachelor's degree in communication and psychology and a master's degree in college student personnel administration from Canisius College in Buffalo.

She lives in Clarkson with her husband, Scott, and daughter, Mackenzie.
