Roberts Wesleyan and Northeastern Seminary to host historic gathering and symposium

Northeastern Seminary and Roberts Wesleyan College host its 2006 McCown Symposium: Reconnecting the Dots - Methodism, Past, Present & Future. This historic pan-Methodist gathering will take place October 1 and 2 at the college, bringing together six major branches of the Methodist Church. The symposium is comprised of a worship service, luncheon and a variety of presentations. All activities are open to the public.

This event will take place in honor of the publication of Dr. Howard Snyder's new book, Populist Saints: B.T. and Ellen Roberts and the First Free Methodists.

All activities are free except for a luncheon with guest speakers which costs $9 per person. To reserve a seat and for information about the event, visit www.nes.edu/reconnectingthedots.

The symposium will begin at 6 p.m., Sunday, October 1, at Pearce Memorial Church, adjacent to the college, with a worship service held in the Methodist Tradition. There will be liturgical dance and music from a variety of choirs.

On Monday, October 2, Snyder will present a keynote address during the 11 a.m. chapel hour at the college in Hale Auditorium.
