Norman L. Roberts has been appointed executive director at the Brockport Child Development Center at SUNY Brockport. He previously served as area manager and senior management analyst with the City of Rochester Parks and Recreation.

A graduate of SUNY Brockport, he assumed his duties on September 1.


Christopher Hoyt of Brockport received the Presidential Scholarship, a grant that is renewable for three additional years if appropriate academic standards are maintained, at Valparaiso University. He graduated from Brockport High School, where he participated in the Leukemia Dance Marathon, was an American Mathematics Competition School Award winner, received the Brockport High School Outstanding Scholarship, and played on the varsity golf and volleyball teams.

Hoyt, the son of Donald and Beth Hoyt, is a meteorology major.


Approximately 854 undergraduate and graduate students received degrees at SUNY Geneseo's 140th Commencement on Saturday, May 13. Graduates from Spencerport are: Megan E. Brown, Elaine Hazel Dean, magna cum laude; Kaylen Beth Lott, John Michael Halstead, and Tyler John MacDuffie.
