Genesee Community College hosts changing trends in workforce seminar

College and high school educators and administrators and workforce advocates and economic developers are invited to a free, all-day seminar dealing with the technological advances in education and the workforce. The event, entitled "A Day in the Future," will be Friday, October 13 at Genesee Community College. Jim Brazell of San Antonio, Texas, an entrepreneur and motivational speaker, will present his fifth world presentation in two segments, in the college's Conable Technology Building.

The morning session begins with registration at 8:30 a.m. in the building's south lobby. Topics of discussion, starting at 9 a.m., include the age of science and non-fiction and fifth world: video games and U.S. competitiveness. The afternoon session starts at 12:30 p.m. with faculty and administrators taking part in a strategy and brainstorming session during lunch, followed by a video games camp. According to Michael S. Stoll, dean for math/science and career education at Genesee Community College, Brazell has "put together an easy-to-grasp picture of what educators need to do to prepare students for the workforce of tomorrow."
