Byron-Bergen junior keynote speaker

On Wednesday, October 4, Emma Long was the keynote speaker at the Annual Cornell Cooperative Extension Genesee County Board of Director's Meeting at Bohn's Restaurant in Batavia.

This past summer, Long attended the ESRI Internatioal User Conference in San Diego, California and spoke in front of 14,000 people about her interest and 4-H's involvement with Global Positioning Systems (GPS) and Global Information Systems (GIS).

At the director's meeting in Batavia, Long gave an outline of her User Conference speech and described her role as a 4-H member, 4-H GIS team member, and NYS 4-H Geospatial Leadership team member. She also spoke at a conference in Ithaca.

One of the goals of the communication is to help foster an understanding of the connection between geospatial science and agriculture.
