A Day of Caring

More than 20 adult community volunteers and 90 middle school students gathered on October 28 in the Village of Spencerport, braved the rain and participated in the Annual Day of Caring. Donna Stassen, administrative assistant for the village, said, "The kids (and adults) did a great job and, despite the weather, they stayed until the end." Tom West, DPW superintendent and Pat Chapman, who works at Spencerport schools and volunteers for this project, helped Stassen. The group spent the day cleaning the canal path, mulching various areas throughout the village and planting bulbs. Above, a group cleans up the Welcome to Spencerport sign.
