Holley Middle School celebrates Red Ribbon Week

Holley Middle School students marked Red Ribbon Week, October 23-27, by creating posters that illustrate the meaning and history of Red Ribbon Week, and how to be drug free. Seventh graders worked in teams to create large posters and eighth graders created individual posters. Jacquie Webster, prevention educator for GCASA (Genesee/Orleans Council on Alcoholism and Substance Abuse), Middle School Principal Susan Cory, and Rene Wolf, health teacher, judged the posters based on creativity, accuracy, promotion of being drug free and completeness. They selected a poster entitled "Put the Pieces Together to be Drug Free Forever," created by seventh-grade students in Heather Kelley's Family and Consumer Science class. The class will receive a pizza and pop party from GCASA.
